girl 11 from battle royale.

vector piece using adobe illustrator cs (and no.... i didn't use live trace in illustrator - that's cheating and i wouldn't dream of submitting anything done with live trace).

feel free to pan it if you see fit.

OMG at the detailed vector!
At first to be honest I didn't think it wasn't really a vector. But you've provided nice links to put any doubts to rest. lol Thats a lot of work. It paid off big time. Its really awesome.

no. i think it's crap. if i did use live trace the outcome would not be what i wanted. click on the links to see close-ups and outline previews.

then...congrats for the EXTREME patience and talent!! :)
How do you do that? Piece by piece using the mouse? Do you use a tablet?

piece by piece using the mouse, playing around with the transparencies and just building it up in layers until i have the depth i need... girl 11 took me ages to do. if you look at my earlier uploads you can see how it developed... thank you for your interest and for the compliment :)
:iconfiatluks:
yeah...I've just checked it out.
the piece is so complex that I wasn't likely to believe it the way it was done, but... xD
Congratulations again, man
How did your PC deal with so many layers? Did you have any stability problem?

my (old work) pc was fine with it. over the years i think i gave that machine a beating and think when i left my old job it was all but dead. shame. it was good while it lasted. i was forever making backups of this and believe me, i've heard some horror stories about lost work and i'll be damned if i'm gonna lose all that work... i can't remember exactly how long it took but i'm sure there's over 80 hours spent on that alone. i've just noticed you do vector art too... gonna watch you.
